Who we are
You+Me+AI is run by TasksmithAI. For anything about your information, email hello@youandmeandai.com. We haven't appointed an information officer yet; until we do, that address handles every privacy request.
What we collect
- Your account. Your name, your email address, the name for your link and your password. Your password is stored scrambled, so nobody can read it, us included.
- What you write. Messages in your chats, what you say to Silas in private, and the record of money, dates and agreements, including any agreement you paste in.
- Notifications, if you turn them on. A code from your phone's browser that lets us send them.
- To keep things running. Basic technical details, such as your IP address, your browser and when you use the app, in our hosting logs.
How we use it
- To run your chats and let Silas answer.
- To answer you when you write to us, and to send you a link to set a new password when you ask for one.
- To send the notifications you've turned on.
- To keep the app safe, fix problems and make it better.
We don't sell your information, and we don't show ads.
Silas and the AI services he uses
Silas runs on Google's Gemini, with Groq as a backup. When he answers, the part of your chat he needs is sent to one of them.
While we're testing, we use Gemini's free tier. On that tier, Google may use what's sent to improve its products, and people at Google may read it. Groq doesn't keep what's sent.
Who can see what
- The other person in a chat sees the shared chat and the record.
- Ask Silas is private to you. The other person never sees it.
- The people who run You+Me+AI can see what's stored, to keep it running and make it better. We've promised never to read private Ask Silas conversations.
- The services listed below handle it for us, under their own terms.
- We'd share it with the authorities only if the law requires us to.
Where it's stored
- Supabase, our database, in Ireland (EU).
- Resend, which sends the emails we send you: a link to confirm your email address, and a link to choose a new password when you ask for one. It sees your email address and the link.
- Vercel, which hosts the site. The part that handles your chats runs in Ireland (EU); the pages themselves are served from the nearest of Vercel's servers.
- Google and Groq, for Silas's answers.
Some of these are outside South Africa. We only use services bound by data-protection laws or agreements that protect your information much as South African law does. Email us if you'd like the details.
How long we keep it
- Your chats and the record stay until you wipe the chat together, or close your account.
- When you close your account, we delete your information within 30 days. Backups are cleared within 30 days too.
- Hosting logs are kept for up to 30 days.
Your rights
You can ask to see what we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to object to how we use it. Email hello@youandmeandai.com from the address you signed up with.
If you're not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Information Regulator in South Africa.
Age
You+Me+AI is for people aged 18 and over.
Changes
If anything changes, this page changes first, and we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect.
